What is GeFe?
GeFe is a platform that helps buyers and sellers of thrift, vintage and resale items connect more easily and safely. Buyers can browse, save items and order, while sellers get a proper store to list products and manage orders. Payments run through escrow, so money is only released after delivery is confirmed and the platform also includes vendor verification, ratings, chat and dispute resolution.
Steve and his team are currently at MVP stage and their main focus is onboarding more sellers in Warri, growing the number of products on the platform, and building a real community around thrift and vintage culture through pop-ups and local events.
Building the Future
Steve sees GeFe as more than a marketplace. He wants it to become a place where people can discover quality thrift and vintage pieces, follow sellers they like, build their personal style, and buy with confidence. For sellers, the goal is a platform where they can grow a real reputation and reach customers beyond Instagram and WhatsApp.
Long term, he hopes GeFe will help put Warri, Delta and the wider South-South on the map for thrift, vintage and youth fashion, then expand across Nigeria and Africa through the people using it. Outside the platform, the team also plans to build culture through pop-ups, styling, photography and upcycling.
Advice for Aspiring Builders
Steve’s advice is simple and grounded:
Don’t wait until everything is perfect before you start. A product alone is not enough as you need people, users, creatives and collaborators who believe in what you are building. Start with what you have, connect with people, stay creative, and keep going.
